Gemma invited to speak at Fintech Innovation Summit

This month, M&C’s Managing Director, Gemma Manning, was invited to speak at FinTech Australia’s 2016 Innovation Summit, Collab / Collide. Gemma joined a range of industry leaders and keynote speakers to discuss untapped opportunities in Australia’s innovation ecosystem and the benefits of business development in Asia, with a particular focus upon her experiences launching our sister company, Gemstar, which now has an office in Singapore.

The 2-day Summit involved a series of presentations, panel discussions and workshops that demonstrated the breadth of knowledge and rich experiences of local and international FinTech talent. Day 1 focused upon start-ups, financial institutions,  partners, investors and government agencies in the FinTech space, providing networking opportunities, mentor sessions and case studies from entrepreneurs and innovators. Day 2 targeted the start-up community specifically, helping start-ups connect on a deeper level through round table discussions, workshops, masterclasses and pitch sessions.

Curated with and for the Australian FinTech community, the national FinTech Summit was a great success and explored the opportunities and challenges in the FinTech space, discussing the need for industry collaboration and the challenges of staying relevant amidst tough competition and disruption. This was the inaugural preeminent national event for the Australian FinTech industry, with the 2017 event set to lift the Summit to new heights.
